Autechre made it pretty high up there on my list of best shows of 2008 but this track comes from their 1999 Coachella appearance. Autechre live is very different different beast than their recordings. They tend to mix everything up into one exceptionally long track and when listening, it’s hard for me to distinguish one song from another. They seem to use short snippets of their songs all over the place. I really enjoy how different the songs sound live, but as you can tell from this track which ends very abruptly you really need to hear the songs in the context of the full recording, not piecemeal like I’m providing here. Maybe this show is a good candidate for a Monday Set in the near future.
