When I think of New York hardcore, I always think macho tough-guy pricks but it’s interesting to see where straight edge originally came from. I remember this Up Front show pretty well and I certainly remember how goofy they were. Goofy is not a term usually associated with NYC hardcore.

I don’t remember their music but I remember that singer. Edgewise played that show too. Per rcpunk.com, this show was at Roman’s. I was thinking the vid didn’t look like Surbeck…

It’s for sure shot at Surbeck. I remember that Up Front played two shows about a week apart from each other. The first one was at Surbeck, the other one is the one you’re thinking of with Edgewise at Romans a week later. Still, it’s such great footage!
