I’ve posted a few jazz/rockabilly songs on this blog in the past, but I’ve never really talked about how I’m a huge fan of jazz. I will dabble in rockabilly/doo-wop, but jazz is where it’s really at. What makes this video of Big Sandy stand out is Carl Sonny Leyland on the keys. I’ve seen Carl a bunch of times and he never ceases to amaze. One of the greatest music experiences I’ve ever had was seeing him playing dueling-pianos at the 2000 San Diego Thanksgiving Dixieland Jazz Festival. He is hands down one of the greatest boogie woogie pianists in the history of music.
