Murder City Devils – Dancin’ Shoes
First off, this video has some kind of camera “special effects” on it which are mildly annoying, but what can you do?
One thing that Murder City Devils eventually learned is that if you’re going to have a keyboard or organ in your band, you better have a chick playing it. There hasn’t been a cool looking male keyboard player since Nick Rhodes, and MCD finally wised up and stopped having the guitarist looking lame playing keyboard. Kudos to them. That’s one of my two rules of rock, if there’s a keyboard in the band, a girl has to play it. Guys just don’t look good playing keyboard, especially if they are standing up/rockin’ out. My other rule is that opening bands, no matter how good, should only play 30 minutes or 8 songs, whichever comes first. Because really, how often is it that you show up and the opening band is so good that you actually want them to play longer. That so rarely happens, I would risk having the opening bands that I actually like have their sets cut short if it means I don’t have to sit through 45+ min. sets from shitty opening bands at 90% of the shows I attend.
OK, rant is over.

Thanks for sharing this. I saw these guys rock CB’s about 4 or 5 years ago, and it was a memorable show. There was something about Spencer Moody’s inescapble front-man persona that draws one into MCD’s world of broken bottles and haunted houses.
The keyboard player comment was pretty un-researched. Try the Sights, Black Heart Procession, The Locust, 45s, Mando Diao, Soundtrack Of Our Lives, Hellacopters to name a few.
