This is The National recorded in the middle of their sold out 5 night stand at Bowery Ballroom in NY. Here are some National fun facts: The National have two sets of brothers in the band. The remainder are all childhood buddies from childhood. Although all of them grew up together and were friends in Ohio, they didn’t form a band until all of them somewhat independently moved to NY.

The terrible news yesterday was of Jason Molina’s passing. Jason was the force behind the Songs: Ohia moniker (largely for his own solo work) and Magnolia Electric Co (which saw him working with a regular band).
