Unwound – Corpse Pose (Live) – The Sound Of Indie

To this day, I’m still upset that I missed Unwound when they were touring for “Fake Train.” I guess I can’t complain too much since I saw them on tour for every other record. This song was recorded in Minneapolis on the “Challenge for a Civilized Society” tour. Always a great live band, I remember this show being one of the best that I saw them play.

Magnolia Electric Co. – Baton Rouge – 9/27/2006

The terrible news yesterday was of Jason Molina’s passing. Jason was the force behind the Songs: Ohia moniker (largely for his own solo work) and Magnolia Electric Co (which saw him working with a regular band). I saw Jason perform three times, in 2004 (Charlottesville), 2006 (Baton Rouge), and 2007 (New Orleans). I spoke with him on two of those occasions. (More...)

I absolutely love unwound. One of my favourite band (if not my fave) ever.
That’s a great recording (I never really heard Justin’s voice on live recordings). I think I saw their biggest gig in Marseille when they opened for Beck and Sonic youth in 1996… or early 1997.
