Chairlift is a new outfit that, as been mentioned here on TSOI a time or two, joins a now crowded field of synth-based bands.Chairlift is notable in that they have a male/female vocal format not unlike The Human League. The female vocals, in the vein of Kate Bush, are really strong which are on occasion accompanied by trademark new-wave Human League-esque monotone deep male vocals. Since the m/f duets is one well that remains largely untapped these days, any strong male/female vocal pairing has huge potential in my book. If Chairlift continue to play on their strengths I would think that keeping a peeper or two on this outfit would likely be worth your while. Here is a recent live take on their lead single.
