Ex Lion Tamer – Life Support Machine

I’ve always liked it when bands reference other bands. To this day, my favorite band that I’ve never actually heard is Cherry Ice Cream Smile which was Kim from All Girl Summer Fun Band’s previous band. The obscure Duran Duran reference has always piqued my interest and I’m afraid if I ever actually heard them, they wouldn’t live up to the hype I’ve built up in my mind. That brings us to Ex Lion Tamer. As soon as I saw the Wire reference, I knew I had to give them/him a listen. It also helps that they are on the small Edinburgh label 17 Seconds, another semi-obscure reference. I will go out on a limb and say that I enjoy this Ex Lion Tamer track almost as much as any song by his namesake. It took me a while to figure out the difference between this stellar Ex Lion Tamer and the inferior Ex Lion Tamer from the NYC area.
