I don’t know if it’s just because both bands are on the Dangerbird Record label, but when I first heard this song I thought to myself “This is going to be the ‘Lazy Eye’ of 2008.'” Not unlike the first time I heard that Silversun Pickups song which propelled them into opening slots for huge stadium shows and a choice spot on the Coachella main stage, when I first heard this Darker My Love track from their forthcoming album, I knew this catchy as fuck track was going to make what is currently a small local band hugely popular. So be sure to catch them during this West Coast residency in the few weeks, because after this record is released on August 5th, I’m betting the next time you see them it will be you and your closest 5,000 friends. As an added bonus, if you go to their record release show either at San Francisco’s The Independent on August 5th or the Troubadour in Los Angeles on August 7th, you get a copy of the cd free with admission. That’s a steal for this fantastic record.

  1. Agreed. I got a chance to see these guys at the Troubadour about a month ago with The Black Angels. They are due for a breakthrough. I am sure that this can help them do it. Thanks for the track. Can’t wait for the release.

  2. When listening to the album, I thought a lot of the songs sounded similar to other songs that I had heard by different bands. But like my friend says, when it comes to good music, sometimes it’s best not to re-invent the wheel.

  3. I went and voted for them, but they’re gonna have a hard time with the pic of Liela Moss from The Duke Spirit right below them luring them to click her button…
