Siouxsie played last week to two sold out shows in New York at Fillmore East at Irving Plaza in support of her new record Mantaray which is her only (!?!) solo record in her 30 year career. To a bit to my surprise, she came out of in a skin tight reflective silver, black and red spandex outfit. The stage light reflected off of her like she was a wicked cyber-bot emanating beams of energy. She was absolutely smokin’ and along with her cabaret strutting and eye-high leg kicks the combined effect was killer.

I believe she played the new album in its entirety (set list anyone?) and eschewed playing obvious Banshee hits like Kiss them for Me, or Peek-A-Boo but played, Israel and Hong Kong Garden and I presume, older and more obscure tracks with which I am not familiar. Great show.
