I think it was the summer of 1994 when I caught this girl, Sari, who was on tour with Kid Dynamo in South Dakota. After the show I picked up the demo which ended up being fucking fantastic. A few years later I was making the trip from Minneapolis to Olympia and I busted out this cassette and to my amazement, my friend had also seen her, but in Minneapolis. Very random. Anyway, it’s a great demo, and I don’t think she ever released anything else which is a serious shame.

  2. I didn’t even know Sari made a demo. I still have a cool old Miller’s Oil Co. work shirt of hers that I picked up from a friends stoop sale.
    Cool site.

  3. was the song “in the hands of a saint” on this cassette by chance? one of my favourite songs on a teenage mixtape is that song by “sari bacilla”, is it the same sari by chance?

  4. This is such a great song, i know this was an age ago but is there any way you can be encouraged to digitalise the rest of the demo

  5. Sending this to Sari, she can answer your questions– but she’s still playing in bands for sure, so there are releases out there…
