After hearing this cover I was almost convinced to buy a Petual Clark record. Rena And Her Men was Jim Ruiz and John Crozier who were joined by Rena Erickson on vocals. Rena was tragically killed in 1990 and this song along with one other were released by Jim as a tribute to her. The two songs can be found on the Japanese release of The Legendary Jim Ruiz Group’s “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou” which I unfortunately don’t own, but I converted this track from my copy of the 7″.

  1. Warm thanks for a lovely song and a genuine find 🙂 I didn’t know the sad story involved. Makes the superlatives I’d want to give about the song malplaced. Anyway, I’m very grateful for the sharing of this recording.

  2. Nice cover and the original is a classic by Petula Clark who wrote the music and sings it in English and French
