Fever Ray is a solo project from Karin of the maddeningly non-prolific Swedish-macabre-synth-rawker-sibling duo, The Knife. It is encouraging to know that at least one of the two siblings is putting their copious time-off to good use.

If I managed to have the foresight, I would have grabbed a punk kid tripping on acid off of the street and told them that they were about to enter an actual medieval Danish seance around the time of Beowolf and tossed them into this show. I suspect that they would have spent the whole show bugging out expecting Grendel to rip into the audience any minute. Once the killer, albeit anachronistic, laser show would hit, the poor sucker’s already overloaded cerebral cortex would completely melt guaranteeing a future quivering in a sanatorium for the poor blighter. Great show. Definitely among the best of the year.
