A couple of months ago, my New York operative Avalanche caught a bit of Autodrone’s set at at CMJ and wrote a blurb about them in his CMJ roundup. The band contacted me and was nice enough to forward me their full debut album in .zip format, which I always appreciate. I gave it a quick listen and liked what I heard. I finally revisited the recording and it’s been pretty constant on my playlist here at work. Autodrone are in the style of 90’s shoe-gaze, and really, really remind me of a more polished version of Minneapolis’ shoe-gaze pioneers February. I’m hoping they’ll make it out to the west coast again so I can check their show out in person.
