Moving Units getting back together was a bit bitter sweet. On one hand, I’ve liked all their releases, but now that they are back together and on a new label, the drummer who was playing with Year Future quit and they are permanently on hiatus. The last thing I heard is that they are recording a new record for Metropolis Records, who are also releasing records by KMFDM, Client and Front Line Assembly. So far the tracks they have posted on their MySpace page are really good. This song is off of the Available 12″.

  1. What!?! I didn’t even know they’d broken up! Been so looking forward to thier next album and didn’t even know there was a chance there wasn’t gonna be one!

I’d assumed, given Blake Miller’s extensive involvement with Steve Aoki, that their next release would be on Dim Mak. Guess not. Well, regardless of who puts it out, I am massively excited for it.

As much as I adore all the songs they’ve released to date, not many are very easy to beat mix into DJ sets given wavering BPMs and structures that don’t lend themselves well to mixing. Miller has obviously developed a much keener understanding of dance music since Dangerous Dreams, so I’ve got high hopes for an album full of solid punk funk rockers this time round.

    Can’t wait.

  2. they never broke up. that was a rumor and blake talking about it to people without talking to johan and chris or the label about it officially.
