This song is a bit of a departure from what I usually post. I’m not a big rap fan but like many people, I enjoy the occasional Jay Z and Biggie track. This song features Phonte’ from Little Brother (who, thanks to the interweb, I have just found out released a new record on Atlantic) over a pretty basic beat laid down by Howard W. Hamilton III, better known as The Busy Signals. I bought this record because of the indie lo-fi electronic songs, but ended up really liking this rap song. Go figure…

  1. Just wanted to say this is a nice groover. I’m with you when you say you’re not a big rap fan. I’m not either, but I like old school grooves, jazzy breaks, funk etc. Put that into hip hop and I want to sit down and listen – and some of that sort of hip hop is pretty damn good or fantastic.
