The new Walkmen record has been released, but I’m still waiting for my copy. I ordered the vinyl from Insound, but they messed something up and it’s delayed 2+ weeks. I’ve had the mp3s of the record for two weeks, but if The Walkmen’s split with Calla on Troubleman is any indication, the mastering on their vinyl recordings is far superior to the cd and more so than mp3s. So I’m still waiting for the vinyl to give it my first listen.

I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing, but I’m thinking that he likes it as well. Next thing you know he’ll have a job working at Pitchfork. This is one of the new songs off the record that they played live earlier this year at Skully’s in Columbus, OH.

The Walkmen did a pretty good job of picking up where JF*E left off, but the one thing that I would have to say is that my favorite song that they have recorded was actually written by The Recoys. This is a live recording of “Look Out The Window”(originally a Recoys song) from their show at The Glass House in Pomona, CA on February 19, 2004. This show was much better than the one they had played a year earlier where people just kept yelling at them to play the “Saturn Song.”
