I’m only about a half year late on this “new release.” Masonic, who apparently already have 3 albums out, released this album last November. I’ve had their e-mail in my archives and was meaning to write about it since then, so I finally am getting around to it. In the same vein as 60’s girl groups crossed with lo-fi indie influences such as Yo La Tengo and Camera Obscura, this Austin five-piece have put out a lovely record. This Del Shannon cover is great, but their originals are where the real gems live.
