I got Pomegranates new CD in the mail a couple of weeks ago and it didn’t leave the CD player in my car until this weekend. All in all, it probably got 20+ plays from start to finish, which is quite a feat when it comes to a previously unknown artist to me. Pomegranates reference well worn influences like French Kicks and Talking Heads in their press release, but I clearly hear other more obscure stuff going on in there like The Lightning Seeds and maybe a little Swirlies. The full album is stellar and I’m looking forward to their performance here in Los Angeles at the end of April.
