I just realized that I haven’t posted a track from one of my favorite bands in over 6 months. This Legendary Jim Ruiz Group song was released on a compilation cd for a radio station. Unfortunately, I only got the one song as a .wav file so I don’t know which radio station it was that put the compilation out. This is a great version of “Minneapolis” where the band plays along to a drum machine. I’m not sure if any other songs exist from this session, but I keep hoping I’ll come across them if they do.

  1. Thanks for this lovely live version of “Minneapolis.” Don’t know if you remember me, but we talked on this blog around a year ago as we both are big fans of the Legendary Jim Ruiz Group. I still haven’t found a copy of Rena & Her Men’s 7-inch though. I fear that will never happen. Great pity!

Say, do you know the song “Ferrol, Spain” by Benito? It’s on “Montecarlo,” a compilation released by Elefant Records. Can’t find any info on this act and they so sound like the LJRG. I could be wrong though. Still as long as I don’t know for sure I keep wondering. So I was hoping you’d know…

    Take care 🙂
